nonsense verse

I’m flying off for the holidays
I think I shall be quite gay!
But since I don’t have a jet,
I assigned the page
to be my magic carpet!
My first guide shall be Sheen,
in ‘Life of Christ’ Jesus shall I meet.
Since Teresa of Avila I can’t ignore,
my Interior Castle I shall explore!
I imagine it is beautiful,
worthy of going ‘ooooh’
I think I just heard Kempis mumble.
Did he just say…
I need to be humble?
*The Interior Castle refers to one’s soul
* Life of Christ is a classic describing Jesus’s life, by Archbishop Fulton Sheen
* In Kempis’ The Inner Life, he urges us to be humble– “A true understanding and humble estimate of oneself is the highest and most valuable of all lessons”
