I like Rempah Udang. It is a peranakan snack consisting of glutinous rice and shrimp filling that you can find at Bengawan Solo. However, I like the one my grandmother makes better. For one, she is more generous with the filling.
The picture below is of a tool my ingenious Kong Kong crafted so they could make Rempah Udang more easily. I’m not sure if he learnt it from someone else but he sure did assemble it himself. To use it, you put in the rice, use the metal rod to create a depression so you can put the filling, and then cover it with rice again.
